Turning Waste into Worth: Advancing Sustainability through Innovation

WHO WE ARE!

Environmentally-Friendly Waste Management Solutions for Homes, Enterprises, and Local Communities

Professional City Managers (PCM), a wholly Ghanaian-owned enterprise, has been an active participant in the waste management sector for the past  years. Established with the aim to deliver comprehensive waste management solutions, PCM offers a wide array of services including domestic and commercial waste management, landfill management, desilting, medical waste management, institutional waste handling, environmental waste management, and dredging.

PCM holds five-year contracts for commercial and domestic waste collection within the Okaikoi North Municipality and the Ga North Assembly. This allows us to serve areas including but not limited to Lapaz, Akweteman, Nii Boiman, Fadama, Achimota, parts of Abeka, ACP Estate, Kwabenya, Ofankor North, and John Teye, reaching over 110,000 households.

Our Theory Of Change

At Professional City Managers, we strive to break the traditional “use-and-discard” pattern, steering our communities towards a zero-waste future. As pioneers in this arena, we are committed to innovating, implementing, and advocating sustainable and feasible zero-waste solutions.

We cultivate collaborative partnerships with all community sectors—residents, businesses, and local governments—to establish and validate zero-waste models. Our goal is to create a critical mass of communities embodying this model, while advocating for national policies that expedite the implementation of these changes on a broader scale. This fosters circularity throughout our local, national, and global economies.

Deeply committed to sustainable practices, we aim to integrate electric-powered garbage trucks, sweepers, tricycles for home collection, and battery-operated compact hydraulic dumpers into our operations. Our commitment reflects our intent to decrease carbon dioxide emissions by 8000 metric tonnes over the next 5 years. This is the equivalent of absorbing the carbon dioxide produced by 360,000 mature trees, reaffirming our dedication to nurturing a healthier environment.
